At the value end, single-stage systems run at one speed and shut off when the thermostat is satisfied. Everything Goodman builds now uses R-32 refrigerant. Production of new R-410A equipment ended January 1, 2025, and the deadline to install remaining R-410A stock passed January 1, 2026, so this is true of every brand — but it is worth knowing that Goodman's parent company, Daikin, pioneered R-32 globally, so the refrigerant transition was an unusually well-rehearsed one here.
